Suicide First Aid Lite is a three-hour programme assured by City & Guilds. It gives your team the knowledge and confidence to recognise when someone may be having thoughts of suicide, ask the question directly, and get them to a suicide first aider. No prior training needed.

How long is Suicide First Aid Lite?
Three hours, delivered in two parts of roughly 90 minutes with a break between.
Is Suicide First Aid Lite accredited?
The programme is assured and externally moderated by City & Guilds. It is not itself a City & Guilds qualification - that is the separate one-day Suicide First Aid: Understanding Suicide Intervention course. Learners can usually opt to register for a City & Guilds digital badge for an additional fee.
Do attendees need any prior training?
No. The content is designed to be accessible to anyone, with no prior knowledge of suicide prevention required.
Is the content distressing?
The subject matter is serious and handled carefully by experienced facilitators. Attendees are told what to expect in advance and can step out at any point. The focus is on immediate safety, not on delivering therapy.
How many people can attend?
Between 16 and 20 delegates per session.
How much does Suicide First Aid training cost?
GBP 135 + VAT per person. As a non-profit social enterprise, our surplus funds free mental health support across the hospitality industry.
