COMMON QUESTIONS
How long is menopause awareness training?
Three hours, in person or virtually, scheduled around service.
What does the session cover?
Understanding menopause and perimenopause, facts and figures, signs and symptoms, the role of the manager, how to hold the conversation, practical workplace adjustments, menopause and the law, and where to signpost for further support.
Is menopause training only for women?
No. It is written for managers of any gender. Colleagues also need to understand why adjustments are being made, or the adjustments do not hold.
Why does menopause matter to a hospitality business?
Symptoms are sharpened by heat, long standing shifts and little privacy. Around one in four women have considered leaving work because of them (SimplyHealth, 2023), and that usually means losing experienced, senior people.
How many people can attend?
Up to 20 delegates per session.
What are our legal duties around menopause at work?
Menopause is not a protected characteristic in itself, but symptoms can engage the sex, age and disability provisions of the Equality Act 2010, plus duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. We cover the practical implications - it is not legal advice.
