We’re on a mission to get the hospitality industry moving!

 

We’re laying down the gauntlet for the biggest movement challenge our industry has seen in a bid to create healthier habits and boost our industries mental health and wellbeing.

​

What better time to spark some healthy habits than during mental Health Awareness Week and raise vital funds and awareness in support of our industry.

​

DID YOU KNOW?

Running for 15 minutes a day or walking for an hour reduces the risk of major depression by 26%

​

What is the challenge?

The Moving for Mental Health Challenge is all based around active minutes moved.

 

Teams of up to five people will compete by logging all their active minutes each day, every minute you spend being active within your team means you climb higher on the virtual mountain.

 

You will be up against other hospitality teams from around the world, all competing to see who can climb the highest mountain!

 

We will be here at every step of the challenge to motivate you, with some awesome prizes thrown in for good measure along the way. You might even find yourself neck and neck with The Burnt Chef Project teams!

When is it?

The Challenge will run for 2 weeks from

Monday 9th May - Sunday 22nd May 2022

which coincides with Mental Health Awareness Week.

​

What better time to raise awareness of mental health within your team and #burnthestigma of mental health in hospitality!

How much does it cost?

It is £20 per person to enter the challenge, so for a team of five the donation to The Burnt Chef Project is £100. All participants will get a custom The Burnt Chef Project 'Moving for Mental Health' die-cast medal!

The remaining monies raised goes directly towards The Burnt Chef Project's ongoing development of a free-to-access set of modules designed to support catering & hospitality students in building personal coping mechanisms and resilience skillsets. In addition, funds will go towards new modules for the free-to-access and internationally available The Burnt Chef Academy app.

HOW DO I TAKE PART?

To start your mountain climb, get your team together, then simply head to our shop using the link below and pay your entry donation to take part.

 

You can pay for just yourself or for your whole team at the same time, just select the number of places you need.

 

You will then be sent an email with the next instructions of how to download the fundraiser app and get your team on the mountain.

Can I raise additional funds to donate to The Burnt Chef Project?

Of course! If you’d like to turn this into a fundraiser of your own, then head to GoFundMe and set up a page and get your friends, family, suppliers and wider teams to sponsor you, you can find more details on how to do this here Fundraise.

What if I don’t have a team?

​

If you don’t have a team, drop us an email and we can team you up with other single participants. You can make new hospitality friends across the globe whilst raising awareness for mental health, creating healthy habits to aid good mental health and be inspired by others within your hospitality community.
